Welcome to St Andrews Presbytery
Formerly the separate Presbyteries of Cupar and St Andrews, St Andrews Presbytery is an ecclesiastical court comprising of the ministers, elders and other representatives of a district
of several parishes. Its role is first and fundamentally spiritual in that it seeks to advance the Kingdom of God through the preaching of the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ and to encourage
all who minister in His Name.
It has a pastoral, administrative and disciplinary role within the Church. This role is expressed through prayerful and considerate deliberation on matters moral and spiritual that are of
concern to the whole Church.
As part of the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ, the Church of Scotland seeks to advance His Kingdom through its members to all people through its worship, witness, mission and
education. Our aim is to encourage and oversee the discipleship of all Christian believers, to guide and support them as Congregations in the fulfilment of the Great Commission which Christ
has entrusted to us all.
As a Presbyterian Church, we are in communion with other Presbyteries within the Kirk. We come together annually to our General Assembly, which is the highest court of the Church.
Here we learn of the broader work of Church in Scotland and throughout the world.
It is our hope that this website will be of use to the Lord to help make disciples who will make Jesus known and make a difference in this world for His Name's sake.
