Faith Matters Committee

Introduction

The Committee echoes, to a large extent, the areas of responsibility of the Mission and Discipleship Council and is concerned with the Christian outreach of the congregations to their parishes.

Its remit encompasses education, training and prayer life.

The Committee has responsibility for Safeguarding training and the training of elders. It is responsible for promoting the worship within the churches, the prayer life of the congregations and for keeping doctrinal issues before Presbytery. It has a responsibility to assist congregations to fulfil their commission to reach people with the Gospel and to take an initiative to introduce within Presbytery issues of current interest within its remit. It also has responsibility for promoting Ecumenical Relations and for engaging with Interfaith Matters.
