Presbytery Conversation Starter 1
Vision - A Summary
The vision of the Church of Scotland is to be a church which seeks to inspire the people of Scotland specifically within area of the Presbytery of St Andrews - and beyond with the Good News of Jesus Christ through enthusiastic, worshipping, witnessing, nurturing and serving communities.
(General Assembly 2006)
We shared stories of encouragement and missionary challenges in our parishes and considered what we could do.
Presbyteries began as places of encouragement for ministers in their pastoral and evangelistic tasks. These conversations starters are designed to provide encouragement as we engage the ministry of the whole people of God in Gods mission in our Presbytery area. They are starters and it is hoped that the conversations may continue in our local churches.
Carry on the Conversation
The key issue arising from this conversation was ministry among young adults and families. Some congregations are already working on these challenges. If you heard a story of encouragement, please lift the phone to the minister of elder and ask more. We need to learn to cook with the ingredients that are around us. We also considered how might learn from the good practice of others around us.
