The Committee echoes the areas of responsibility of the Ministries Council of the General Assembly. Its remit covers the training and equipping of those engaged in the Ministry of the Church in all its aspects within the bounds of the Presbytery, including, from time to time, arranging in-service training courses. It has responsibility for all matters relating to Candidates for the Ministry, Probationers and Readers. It has responsibility for the selection and training of those wishing to become Approved Preachers. It is responsible for the pastoral care of those engaged in the Full-Time and Auxiliary Ministry of the Church.
The Committee will advise Presbytery on applications for Study Leave and will receive reports on Study Leave.
The Committee will, in collaboration with the Ministries Council and, where appropriate, Fife Health Board, be involved in the appointment of part-time Hospital Chaplains and will report to Presbytery on their annual reports.
The Committee will be responsible for periodic review of the Presbytery Plan and in that review it will co-opt the Convener of the Property Committee (or a deputy nominated by the Convener of the Property Committee).
