Presbytery of Fife
Draft Proposal Consideration
St Andrews Presbytery has agreed to meet with Kirkcaldy and Dunfermline Presbyteries to hold discussions around the subject of forming a Presbytery of Fife. This will ultimately require Presbytery reform in order to devolve powers and responsibilities from the three Presbyteries to the single Presbytery. A process of consultation with all Presbytery members and congregations was proposed and accepted by St. Andrews Presbytery.
This wil initially involve three steps...
Discussion papers will be circulated prior to the next meeting of Presbytery in order that discussion may be encouraged at our May meeting. The hope is that this will inform the planning process of the union of the three Fife Presbyteries
The Business Committee with then thereafter set meetings with congregational representatives to engage in discussion of the proposed structures and implications.
Finally, a conference of the three Presbyteries of Fife will take place on the 31st of August, 2019 in Kirkcaldy where there will further opportunities for input and appropriate suggested approaches.
Please keep these events in your prayer.
